Claridge's fashionable bars and restaurants include Gordon Ramsay's, named after its famed chef. Here, the Michelin-starred chef serves modern European cuisine, with dishes such as Baked Baby Sea Bass with Aubergine Caviar, Roasted Fennel, Confit Garlic, Black Olives and a Lobster Nage. Adjacent to the restaurant is the Macaduno Fumoir, with its boudoir- style purple upholstered walls, low tables and wooden bar; caviars and cocktails, including the Claridge's Bellini, are served here. The Reading Room restaurant has Art Deco cut marble fireplaces, rich leather columns and suede walls. Dishes can include Sauté of Foie Gras with Spice Bread and Elderflower Syrup and Roast Fillet of Lamb, Fennel Confit, Maxime of Potatoes and Basil Jus. Famous for its afternoon teas, Claridge's Foyer was lovingly restored by acclaimed designer Thierry Despont to its former Art Deco splendor. Crowning the Foyer is a magnificent Dale Chihuly silver-white light sculpture. In the wood-paneled Claridge's Bar, guests can sample fine wines, rare champagnes and cocktails in a chic setting. |
